First time she was a surrogate mother three years ago for a Bombay couple. She gave birth to a boy, breast-fed him for 10 days, then the family took off to be never heard from again, no letters, no phone calls. Now she is pregnant once again for a couple from New Zealand whom she has seen only once. She is hoping to buy a house for her family. Her husband takes care of their two children, he has to cook and take them to school. Here in the surrogate house Sumitra has lots of friends, but she misses her family and she don't appreciate the fact that she can't cook herself and is not allowed to walk around. Sumitra has learned about surrogacy from her neighbor and it took her and her husband three months to make a decision.
